Jess Petri, Ph.D.

Psychologist

Dr. Petri is a licensed clinical psychologist in Georgia. She completed her PhD in clinical psychology at Auburn University, her internship at Cincinnati OH Veterans Administration Medical Center, and her postdoctoral training at Emory University. She has experience in forensic assessment in both psychiatric hospital and juvenile detention settings and clinical assessment with adults and veterans entering therapy or treatment programs for traumatic stress and anxiety. Within these settings, Dr. Petri has worked as an assessor, a therapist, and as an innovator in training hospital staff in sensitive interactions with hospitalized clients. Dr. Petri is particularly passionate about helping individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds access quality mental health care. Her scholarly work includes research projects to better understand and accurately diagnose disorders like posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). 

At Georgia Psychological, she provides trauma-informed and compassionate assessments of psychological health and parenting capacity that guide important family decisions and treatment planning.
